Asphalt is the material of choice for most properties because of its strength, ease of maintenance, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Biondi Paving & Engineering starts by assuring that the existing or new base stone is strong, compacted, graded correctly, and ready for paving. The asphalt is paved with the most modern pavers and rollers available—and done by operators who are in constant training through the asphalt industry.

Below are some of the commercial paving solutions we offer:

New construction:

Biondi Paving & Engineering will excavate and remove the existing grass, dirt, concrete asphalt, or stone to the desire design depth. We will supply and install a crushed aggregate base course, compacted in lifts to the correct design elevations. The design depths and elevations are determined by your assigned project manager who is knowledgeable about average daily traffic flow, type of vehicles using the asphalt surface, and your local soil conditions. The project is then paved to the compacted thickness that is stated in the proposal/contract.

Remove and repave:

Biondi Paving & Engineering has the ability to remove the existing pavement section down to the stone layer. All removed pavement will be recycled. The existing base will be proof rolled, regraded to assure drainage, and compacted in preparation for the new asphalt to be patched or paved to desired thickness.

Mill and resurface:

Biondi Paving & Engineering can remove the wearing surface of your asphalt to a depth of 1.5 to 2 inches. This allows us to profile the best grade possible for rainwater drainage. We then clean the newly-milled surface and apply a tack coat to bind the existing asphalt to the new asphalt layer. A new layer of asphalt surface is then paved back to the 1.5 to 2-inch depth.

Pulverize regrade and pave:

Pulverization of the existing pavement allows us to increase the depth and strength of your existing stone base. The pulverizer turns the existing asphalt back to stone and mixes it with the underlying bases for a new, stronger stone base. The stone is then fine graded, watered, and compacted to assure proper drainage. Then the new layer of asphalt pavement is paved over the pulverized stone to your desired thickness. This technique is limited in some areas due to constraints at match points with sidewalks, concrete, and the surrounding terrain.
